A local champion who takes action.

For our community, for our economy, for our future.

If you elect me, David Merner, as your Member of Parliament, I will:

  •  Lead on climate action

  •  Support clean public transit

  •  Work hard on affordable housing

  •  Help build the Green economy

  •  Defend our coast from pipelines and tankers

  •  Hold government accountable on ethics and integrity

  •  Work very hard in our community

I know how important it is to work hard in our community. Since December, I’ve been walking the byways and highways of our riding and listening to voters. Before the election was even called, my team and I knocked on over 20,000 doors.

We’ve heard that people are not happy with the broken promise of the Trudeau government. People are not happy with the same old incremental changes being offered up by the old line parties. People want change.

The Green Party offers real change. We’ve broken through across Canada. Last summer, I campaigned for Mike Schreiner in Guelph, Ontario and he was elected as Ontario’s first Green Member of Provincial Parliament. Last fall, I canvassed for Meghan Mitton in Memramcook-Tantramar, New Brunswick and she became the first Green Party woman elected to New Brunswick’s legislature.

This spring, I campaigned for Paul Manly. Paul’s historic win was a game-changer for Vancouver Island, which could well go entirely Green in 2019. The Greens now have fifteen elected members working hard in four provincial legislatures, as well as two outstanding federal Members of Parliament. We have proven that a small number of Greens makes a huge difference.

This is a critical time in the history of human civilization. The vast majority of scientists say that we have less than ten years to get off fossil fuels. Deep transformational changes in the way our government, social services, and economy work are critical to the future of our planet.

The old line parties will not deliver this kind of change. Let’s send a strong team of Green MPs to Ottawa in 2019. With your support, we can hold the government accountable and ensure that Green voices are heard loud and clear in our House of Commons.

Please vote for me, David Merner, and make a difference to our community, our country and our planet.

By becoming a member you are helping build a sustainable future.
